This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What grabs your attention? Color draws the eye and piques the imagination. Having a color printer will add dimension to students' reports and assignments and our library displays will draw more attention than boring black and white. A color printer will support our new computer lab.

We are a 60 plus year old school in a rural area that has a high percentage of low income students.

They don't have computers at home or if they do, no printers. The public library has printers but not color ones, plus they charge per page. They come to our school library to print. Our students are very visual. Having the ability to print in color will add so much more to their work. It would be great to have them print pictures, graphs and other items for their Science projects and History reports, among other things, in color.

My Project

Having a color printer in the library will give students that extra incentive to create a report that will draw the teacher's eye and will show that they went that extra step to make their report eye-appealing. I believe this will result in better grades and in a more positive, confident student. I will be able to create displays which will draw students' attention and spark their imagination.

I believe that libraries are still a valid, vital and important part of a student's school education. But the library has to be a place that students want to come to. This means having the resources and the books that they are seeking and having the library be a cool place to be.
