Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a special needs teacher working primarily with kids on the autism spectrum. They often lack the foundational skills to interact with their peers and a positive and meaningful way. It is hard for these children to make and keep meaningful relationships. These books and other supplies will help Them learn these important skills with fun, interactive tools.
The books are a fun and engaging visual way for them to learn skills while listening to stories.
They can then practice these skills with each other during games that we play in small groups. And addition using having the whiteboards will help when they would like to draw out their feelings if they cannot come up with the words or answer questions while playing games with adult support.
Please help me give these kids a chance to learn these foundational skills to making and keeping friendships.
