Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Students deserve to be rewarded for all their hard work. My students come from tough backgrounds and I want to reward them for all their hard work. I will be hosting a midyear end-of-quarter 2 pizza/donut party to help celebrate and motivate students who have achieved a B or higher average in my class. Since teaching in the inner city I have really seen how much my students appreciate even the littlest rewards like a piece of candy or snack. I want to provide them with a larger incentive and reward for the end of quarter 2 to keep students motivated and on track.

My students who do the right thing and come to school and work hard really deserve to be treated and celebrated no matter what.

I would love to be able to provide students with a pat on the back after all their hard work after these two long quarters. I have already brought in small treats and my students are so appreciative of them but I want to do something bigger for them. The pizza and donuts would be used to feed my classes with enough so that they feel appreciated. I specifically asked them potentially which pizza and they unanimously decided that Papa Johns was better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. Know that celebrating students in these types of ways really motivates them to continue to work on their education and pursue learning as much as they can. Thank you for all your support!
