This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
It is so hard not to be able to hug my students or put my hand on their shoulder for encouragement. I teach in the city and these kids have so much to deal with now that they are learning from home. For many of them school was their safe place. I think being able to bring them food and hygiene supplies it will make such a huge difference for them. They are home and many do not have access to these items. I would love to be able to help these kids during this time.
My Project
My students aren't physically with me to care for them but I would like to make little care packages for the students that need it and deliver them to their homes. Staying six feet away while doing it. In school I can make sure that all my kids have things they need. Well just because they are not with me doesn't mean they shouldn't have little snacks like chips, fruit snacks and bean snacks. Also things like deodorant, body wash and face wash will help my students stay clean and raise their self-esteem.
