This is the first year in over 10 years that there has been a full-time choir teacher in our high school. The only piano available in our choir room is broken down and absolutely awful. There is no keyboard cover, it's been repaired multiple times and it's now been damaged by water and high heat temps after the performing arts wing got flooded in the January/February 2024 Ice Storm. The wood mechanics for the pedal squeak and it won't stay in tune.
A new piano will improve the foundation of sound for students in the choral program.
It will significantly boost the morale and confidence of the singers. Confident singers will enjoy choir more and recruit their friends and classmates and in turn help build the overall program. The impact will be felt for years as the program blossoms and grows.
