Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." ~ Ignacio Estrada
We are an energetic, active, fun class of K-2nd grade Autistic support students.
We learn best with hands-on interactive materials.
We live each day with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, specific learning disabilities, speech and language delays, developmental delays, and behavior disorders.
When learning can be turned into a fun active moment, we are more engaged and eager to participate. We love to learn, explore, and develop the skills we are struggling with, through colorful and interactive activities.
My Project
The resources requested will be used by each student to increase fine motor skills, language and social development, and academic goals. The classroom magnetic letter kit will be used daily by my students. My students love learning letter names and slowly moving onto letter sounds. This kit will be great to use in many different classroom hands-on activities.
The magnetic letter builder kit is a great way for my students to learn how too create the lines and curves in creating each letter. Not all of my students are ready for a pencil and paper but really want to be involved in handwriting activities. I have also requested Let's Get Moving activity kits. My students are very active and we don't always work at the tables. My students will love jumping and skipping around to find different numbers and following directions. This is also a great way to teach social skills. Providing hands-on engaging materials for each of my students will help them grow and learn each day.
Each item requested will be used to benefit each student with their specific developmental needs.
Most of the materials in my classroom are not appropriate for all of my students individual needs or suitable for the diversity of my young learners.
