Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders need fiction and non-fiction books to encourage them to read. My students come from working families who speak different languages and backgrounds. They look forward to meeting their classmates and the exciting opportunities that the school year will bring. With these books, they will be able to make connections and find their interests for their future careers and interests.

My students need community textbooks that they can identify with and that will encourage them to read on their own and with their peers.

It is important to give students reading choices to not just celebrate diversity but future endeavors.

With these books, we can build our classroom library so that we can continue to learn from one another. We will have the opportunities to build relationships and celebrate closing reading gaps as well as a growth mindset.
