This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in the Bronx. I serve a diverse group of students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Many are English Language Learners and come from low-income families. They are so excited to have a visual arts class where they can express themselves. This year we have art in a classroom setting that students visit for 1-2 classes per week.

My art class is a safe haven where students can feel free to take creative risks and express their emotions.

Students in my school typically don't have access to art supplies at home. They are bright, creative, and eager young scholars. They would all really benefit from your support with materials and mediums which they don't get to use except in our art classroom.

My Project

I would love to get 30 different art drawing reference books that can be used by all levels of students in my school. These books are used year after year and students enjoy seeing new titles added to the collection.

A great reference library can benefit the students and give them confidence to draw things they wouldn't normally attempt.

They are perfect motivators for students that need a little encouragement to finish their work. Please help give them that extra resource, provide enrichment opportunities for all our students that want to build their drawing skills and their confidence.
