My Project
As a STEM teacher in a 3K/PreK center, I strive to provide my little scientists with the most enriching experiences as possible. 3K/Prek students are capable of learning and wrestling with big concepts when given the opportunity in a safe and supportive environment.
The electric circuit boards, LED busy boards, sensory tap lights, and magnetic blocks would help take the STEM room to the next level for our curious toddlers learning experience.
They will be able to practice perseverance with tasks, critical thinking and problem solving and collaborative play and learning with the use of these electricity and magnetism toys.
My goal for this project is to transform an area of the STEM room to become an electricity and magnetism center for our little scientists to explore and engage in big concepts in a safe way.
My students are special because not only do they live in the poorest congressional district in the United States, they are some of the most eager, brilliant and resilient students I have ever met and they deserve these experiences. Although a childrens museum recently opened in the Bronx for the first time, admission prices and location make it difficult to access for many of our families. I would love to provide our students with a children's museum experience right in their own school community at no cost and no additional travel than their journey to school.
