Help me give my students flexible seating in my classroom for our Counselor Connections. As a school counselor I will be able to provide our social emotional lessons in my classroom instead of going into our students' classrooms.
As a school counselor, I provide counseling lessons to each classroom within our school. In years past, I would push into the classroom and provide my lessons to them in their environment. I am building my own classroom where our students will come to me for our lessons. This will allow me to not only continue to provide our social emotional lessons, but students will also be able to come into my classroom to take a break while I continue to be able to provide my lessons as scheduled. This opportunity is extraordinary for our school.
Many of our students deal with anxiety, have mental health issues, suffer from ADD, are on the Autism spectrum, or have experienced some form of trauma in their young lives.
Many of our students are in need of self-regulation breaks. If I am assisting a student, I may be late to a lesson, or may not be able to make it at all. With my classroom, I am able to help all students meet their needs.
These items I’m requesting will assist my students with feeling safe and comfortable while learning. The many different flexible seating options will assist our many students with many different needs. Help me make my learning environment meet the needs of our students.
