I'm a kindergarten teacher in Brooklyn. I have twenty incredible children in my class. One of the requirements in kindergarten math is to learn the basics of time. Currently, the classroom only has one large clock for the teacher to display times on. As a result, the children are not able to have the necessary hands-on experience that is required for them to really learn the basics of time. This proposal would give each of the children their own personal clock to work with, along with a classroom clock that would display the times when each activity would begin. With these additional materials, the children would be successful in learning how to tell time. Also, it would give them the opportunity to go beyond the required basics and learn material that would be taught in first grade. Thank you, in advance, for your time and consideration.
