This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My TK students live in the low-income, mid-city district of Los Angeles. My students come to school every day and we have the highest attendance for a Title I/low-income school with a population of about 700 plus students. My Transitional Kindergarteners are a rambunctious, beautiful bunch of kids with so much life, love and learning to be had. They deserve everything the world has to offer and more! I am so proud of them, every step of the way! They are happy learners with smiles and excitement all day!
My Project
The materials in this project will help my students in a variety of ways. They will learn about holidays around the world through the stocking, ornaments and more. The sight words will allow them to start exploring the ability to recognize words we have seen and practiced these past few weeks during this pandemic and distance learning. The DIY stem projects of creating their own cars and wooden heart boxes will start them on the right foot when it comes to STEAM in TK. The play dough, bubbles, and sticker activities will allow them to continue to explore their creativity.
