Have you ever wanted to see an armadillo up close? How about a wallaby? My students need first hand knowledge of these and many more amazing animals. My classroom is in a very poor inner city neighborhood. Please help them experience SCIENCE ALIVE.
All of my students come from a very low economic situation.
We are a inner city school in Michigan, which is one of the hardest hit states by the economic crisis. My students and our school system have had to endure drastic cuts and I want them to have the opportunity to experience programs that my own children see in the suburbs. I want my students to have the same educational advantages that my own personal children who attend a suburban school have. I hate that my students don't have the advantages or materials that other districts do and I want them to have the best possible learning experience. Please help my students experience live animals up close.
As a science teacher we learn a lot about life sciences with a major emphasis on animals and their classifications. The Science Alive program is an amazing live animal experience. The students get the opportunity to see unique animals up close and learn about its habitat, eating habits and other interesting facts. The animal are taken out one by one and the students will get the opportunity to touch it and observe its eating habits. They will receive many interesting and exciting details about all the animals, which can be applied to our science lessons in class. Students will be able to classify the animals they encountered and also identify their habitats and foods they eat. Finally they will chose an animal that interested them the most and write a detailed report about the animal and what they learned from this experience and other things they learned by researching it further. Science Alive would help me bring first hand animal experiences to my students.
I teach in a inner city school that has received drastic cuts over the past few years.
I am always looking for unique and exciting programs to excite my students and get them excited about learning. Science Alice is one of those programs. By helping to bring Science Alive to my classroom you will help my students have first hand experience with many unique and amazing animals. This experience will help to motivate and excite my students and make learning an enjoyable experience.
