it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day we try to use real-world examples in my mathematics classroom. In the age of the common core, students are expected to delve deeper into mathematical concepts by having the proper tools and resources to enhance their learning.
My students are extremely motivated future mathematicians and scientists in Los Angeles, CA.
The goal of our magnet program is to best prepare our students for post-secondary opportunities in universities, technical schools, and in the 21st century workplace.
My Project
These tools and resources will be used by my Algebra students every day. Students have the opportunity to work in groups to solve tasks and problems as a team. Here group members begin to learn the roles and methods that future mathematicians use in college and beyond. Basic tools like calculators and tiles allow students to not simply solve problems, but to model problems as well as use real numbers and data that require computation.
As you can see in the picture above, my students apply mathematical concepts to the real world, in this case the inaccuracies of the world map.
