This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I hope that you agree that access to technology should be part of a child's educational right in the United States. Unfortunately, in poorer communitities it is a privilege.
The students you would be helping have numerous obstacles to overcome, including poverty, disabilities ( i.e. autism and ADHD), and students learning English as a second language. Acquiring technological tools for instruction would positively increase the amount of focus and absorption of all academic subjects, which would ultimately help them succeed in life.
The technology that could help the entire class of students learn is a document camera. A document camera would allow the integration of animations, power points, podcasts, and a multitude of other projects. In order for a document camera to work, a projector and laptop must be connected.
These tools can really make learning come to life. Please give this group of 4th graders (and many future groups) an essential tool that could motivate them to do well in school. Due to your generosity, they will have additional skills needed to overcome the obstacles before them. I hope you will honor them with the privilege.
