Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our STEMsters students are beginning to understand their STEM identities. As educators, we continue to foster this STEM identity for all our students, especially our girls. We also understand the importance of authentic problem-solving. These students are curious and need the best instruction and quality curriculum to develop to their potential. Using problem-solving skills, communication skills, and cooperative skills, we incorporate our PBL (Problem Based Learning) model. Our students learn about an authentic problem and then with learning intentions and success criteria, come up with a viable solution. We work with industry partners that are the "experts" in the field of the problem topic. Students then present their solutions back to a panel of industry partners that give feedback on their work.

My Project

As educators in this modern world, it is impossible to have all the knowledge needed to give students about careers and experts in certain content areas. We can't know it all and students want to hear about what is going on in the "real world." This is why we need a subscription to Nepris.com.

Nepris connects educators and learners with a network of industry professionals, virtually, bringing real-world relevance and career exposure to all students.

Nepris also provides a skills-based volunteering platform for organizations to extend education outreach, and build their brand among the future workforce.

This subscription will enable me to have access to ALL prior industry talks as well as request a talk if I can not find the resource I need. These talks don't just engage students, but they give them the opportunity to dream of who they want to be someday!
