This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend an inner-city elementary school in a low, socioeconomic community. Many are from single parent homes, live in multi-family homes, live in subsidized housing, qualify for free or reduced price breakfast and lunch and have other obstacles that they face on a daily basis.

Despite these obstacles, the one constant is that they all come to school ready and eager to learn.

My students are at a point in their life where they are learning how to be responsible, respectful and safe by keeping themselves and our classroom organized.

My Project

As we enter into the second half of the school year, my students need a modern-day classroom management system to help them be successful the rest of the school year.

With a constant push for more technology integration in education, it has become apparent that our classroom management system needs to brought into the 21st century, for my 21st century learners.

This iPad and accessories will help me monitor and reward my students by using Class Dojo to track their positive and negative behaviors. It will also allow me to communicate with their parents about academic and behavioral concerns and praises through Class Dojo, Remind, and other apps. My students will also benefit from the use of educational apps to enhance their learning during whole class or small group time.
