I am so fortunate to work in a school for students with severe disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy and down syndrome to learning disabilities and high functioning autism. These students do not let their disability hinder their abilities!!
Our students are absolutely amazing!!!
As a school, we focus on empowering all students to move into their future with as much independence as possible. We do this by teaching life skills and providing vocational studies to every student in the building.
We showcase each students intelligence, talents, and endurance in many ways. Many of our students enjoy performing and using their natural talents, like singing, dancing, and/or playing musical instruments!!!
My Project
With today's new normal becoming today's new way of life, we as a school community need to adapt many of things we do.
My students love to perform, put on shows, dance, sing, and play musical instruments.
In planning for the upcoming school year, full assemblies will not be in the cards.
Instead, we would love to use our brand new green screen to create backgrounds and themes for our shows and performances. We would capture our talents using the videography equipment to make movies into our new assemblies!!
We would create a monthly student spotlight assembly, as well as seasonal shows like The Holiday Season, Talent Shows and Graduation activities.
