Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students come from low socioeconomic homes and live with single parents. And although they experience those hardships at home they come to school with their goals, plans and ready to learn. My students need a place where they can enjoy what they do and can find new experiences.
“You can find magic wherever you look.
Sit back and relax all you need is a book!”-Dr. Seuss.
My students are great, independent and self-directed learners they just need the right tools to keep striving.
My Project
These new books will help our students build their background knowledge and give them a place where they can sit and relax.
By reading, they can explore new places and learn new things.
These new books are also part of our Name that Book competition. This year we will vote for our favorite book by doing a bracket challenge. Our students will love to have them in our classroom library since these books get checked out the most. By having them in our classroom library our students will be able to read them and get into the fun of voting for their favorite ones.
