"What are we doing today?" This is the first statement I hear from students when they enter the art room. They are always anxious to get started on a project and to use their creativity!
My students come from a wonderfully diverse backgrounds of culturally different inner city kids, who are alway excited and anxious to learn about art!
We have tight budgets with limited amount of resources. But my students want to do a wide variety of projects, and excited to learn about art and artists around the world.
My Project
Our artists need your help to get supplies for their projects. We are needing the art supplies for projects about Africa and Asia that students will use to learn more about the art and cultures of these two continents.
Students will be making Japanese cherry blossom scrolls as in the ancient art of Japan, using the dowel rods and fabric.
Students will be using glazes on ceramic bowls that they will make by learning from how different tribes, throughout Africa make their ceramic utensils.
The construction paper will be used to restock our supply that has dwindled down to almost extinction!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
