My Project

Our garden is an established garden with 13 beds that are in need of updated soil and supplies. Our students do all the learning with their classes and are so excited to see how our garden grows. I visit all the classes to help students plant seeds and the entire school community gets to see the seeds germinate indoors. We also compost in our garden and our students learn the valuable lesson of using all our resources to make our garden grow. The last week of school we plant our garden and anxiously await. When the students return in the fall, there is a green garden waiting for them! They get to experience the harvest of corn, pumpkins, tomatoes, beans and carrots. It is one of our students favorite activities and brings all of our school community together.

Arrowwood is a pre-k through 6th grade community that educates our students with a variety needs in fun and engaging ways including our lovely garden.

We have a deaf and hard of hearing program, a program serving students with severe needs and celebrate a diverse cultural community. My goal for this project is to help create a garden that is bountiful for our students and school community to enjoy.
