This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the keys to being physically active as an adult is to enjoy physical activity as a child. I teach Adapted physical education (physical education for students with disabilities) , and most of the skills and concepts for traditional sports games are difficult for my students. With sports games being ‘hard’ it is challenging for them to find the enjoyment in being active. With the aid from Champion Sportime Economy Scooter Board Set, I can teach my students activities that involve tag games, obstacle courses and balance activities. These types of non-traditional activities help my students find enjoyment during physical activity. Currently I have 1 set of scooter boards that are old/ cracked, and students must take turns waiting for them. Your donation will help provide every student with a scooter board to participate in during APE. With every student having equipment, I will be able to design lessons that improve student’s gross motor skills while they are engaged and enjoying physical activity that is appropriate for them. Thank you.
