My students need equipment to train for this upcoming track and field season. We need field markers for the discus, a practice crossbar, and cones to help with exercises.

My Students
Every spring the weather changes, and our school looks forward to the beginning of track season. Recently our team has grown and the students are becoming eager to show their talents. We need help for them to live up to our team motto: "How hard you work will determine the place you finish".
Our students come from diverse backgrounds, including ethnicity and economic resources.
Many of our students come from impoverished backgrounds and our school has been designated as a Title I school that receives federal funding.
Unfortunately, without an athletic scholarship many of our students will not be able to achieve post-secondary education.
Despite their demographics we want to help our students reach their highest athletic potential. Our students look forward to traveling outside of the county to compete and many have the potential to compete for a state championship with the proper resources.
My Project
We always encourage our students to take pride in what they have. With our modest equipment we do our best in practice and hosting meets but having more equipment would help us raise our pride and eventually assist in our team hosting our own Invitational meet.
The track spikes will help the students compete on rubber tracks. Many of the higher-level track meets we will compete are at facilities with tracks that require us to have a certain type of footwear.
One of our young men began competing in the pole vault last year, and he was very successful. We hope to get other students interested in the event. With the crossbar tool we can speed up the repetitions and challenge them to achieve new heights.
Our students will continue to work hard in all of their events.
With your help they will challenge themselves to work hard at practice. Having them overcome challenges at practice will prepare them for track meets and situations that will arise outside of sports.
Some of the best memories in life come from childhood accomplishments - game winning shots, the hit to win the game. We want our kids to have lifelong memories when they reflect on the time in our program - with your help they can.
