I am a first-year teacher teaching 24-28 wonderful 1st-grade students at a tuition-free charter traditional school. While substituting for the past semester, I have learned the broad range of need from my students. My students range from completely independent to needing that extra help.
My goal in life is to see my students excel at their pace and enjoy learning.
Our school has just combined with a high school, so our small community will become a little larger this year. With three other first grade teachers to learn from, I am looking forward to learning more about teacher development and my ready-to-learn students.
My Project
Being a new teacher, making sure that I have the supplies that my students deserve is difficult. My students come from all different living situations, therefore I am driven to give my students all that I can. While I have slowly attained numerous materials in preparation for my first year, such as books, writing utensils, staplers, sharpeners, and other materials, there is always room for materials that my students will use. These materials will be used during reading, practicing math with whiteboards, using manipulatives to stimulate the students' minds, and organizational materials for the classroom as a whole. I am excited to begin my teaching journey and successfully making a difference in the students' lives by teaching them through traditional practice.
