This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are an urban charter school in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. We have 100% free lunch, which means our children are living in poverty. They come to school each day for nutrition of their mind and body and leave with skills to become leaders in their future lives. We focus on helping students harness the leader within them to become proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, and synergize.
My students are very interested in technology and engage in multiple learning styles.
My students appreciate a good book, a comfy learning environment, stimulating lessons, and learning through technology. We are a school for 21st century learners and our students enter to learn and exit to lead!
My Project
A document camera would transform our classroom's lessons! The students would be able to view a book being read aloud amplified on the projector instead of squinting to see it from multiple feet away. Our classroom could view the same document at the same time. We could go over homework, tests, graphic organizers, student work, and so many other documents!
Can you imagine what else we could view with a document camera?
Laptop screens, printed materials, cell phones, manipulatives, and pictures are just a start! Students could communicate through writing and display it on the camera. So many amazing benefits to help boost motivation, engagement, learning, and excitement!
