it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my first year in education and is going to be my first year coaching elementary soccer! My kids over here are very determined in the classroom but also out on the field. Soccer can teach them a lot about themselves but also give them a sense of team management and playing with others in team setting. I have seen through out my adult life that soccer really taught me a lot in order to get a job and the right tools to help me succeed. It also gave me that mentor on and off the field that I knew cared about me and that’s what I want to give to these kids and more! So any help to get some supplies for them and help start me off in the right direction as a coach would help!
My Project
These materials will help with holding practices and helping the kids learn skills such as time management, group involvement, confidence on and off the field, social skills with adults and other students,etc. Soccer is the after school so part of it is having class time before or after practice to making sure they do what they need to on and off the field. I also will be able to be a mentor to all of them and show them how sports got me to being the successful person I am today.
