This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us become better readers!!! My students love to read and need books to suit their needs.
I teach at a school that is in a low-socioeconomic area.
My students are a big part of my team! They are primarily Hispanic English Learners. I have 9 girls and 9 boys. They are eager to learn, hopeful, and easily influenced by their surroundings. They love to display their work on our walls for family and peers to see. They deserve all the support we can give them!
My Project
When this project is funded, my students will have a larger variety of books to read in our classroom. The books that I am requesting are high interest books that my students this year and beyond will be able to love and enjoy. These books will be at their reading level, so the text wont be too difficult and they will feel like successful readers!
The past three years I have taught 3rd grade, so my classroom library is more geared to those readers.
This year, I am teaching 2nd grade so I hope that this new and updated library will give my students access to books they can read and will be successful with.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
