My Students

Elbert Hubbard said, "the best preparation for good work tomorrow is good work today." My students need to learn and have time to practice vocational tasks so they are prepared for employment after graduation.

My students are in kindergarten through fifth grade classes for students with significant disabilities.

They attend a public elementary school with their neighborhood peers. Their differing abilities include: Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Epilepsy, visual impairments, and hearing impairments. Many have parents currently serving in the U.S. Military.

My Project

We are requesting a small vending machine to learn stocking skills. The vending machine will also provide a visual boundary to teach students where vocational training takes place. Having hands-on learning activities will increase my students' time on task, focus, attention, work endurance, and potential for employment.

Having our students stocking a vending machine will help them to be prepared for their future jobs after graduation.

This machine will help us prepare our students for the work world and will greatly assist with their future vocational success.
