This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students from my school live in one of the highest inner-city poverty areas in not just New York City, but in the entire nation. Many of our students are new English language learners who survive day-to-day and view coming to this public school as a positive way to escape their otherwise less than satisfactory lives. Others don't even have homes to go to!

We try our best.

We provide students with access to after-school programs, necessary technology, even basic ADL materials, and but with major budget cuts, we can no longer afford to fund many student-centered projects and sometimes the latest technology is up to teachers to explore and provide.

My Project

These headphones will help us be able to better engage our students in quiet laptop/computer work. They will be invaluable in math when we are running lessons via Iready, or Google Classroom and in science when we do Brainpops. In social studies, we often watch videos and in ELA Pixar Shorts. There are so many beneficial reasons headphones are an important part of our daily needs, but it is an ongoing struggle to find enough for the entire class to use especially when we need them all at once. Please consider helping us get headphones that are decently strong enough for us to use.
