Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Teacher of Graphic Design in Paterson, NJ. Many of my students come from families struggling to make ends meet, and opportunities for financial stability are often limited. However, I believe that entrepreneurship can be a powerful tool to inspire and uplift young minds, providing them with the skills and confidence needed to build a successful future.
To introduce my students to entrepreneurship, my graphic department, EG Graphics, is incorporating a T-shirt design & production department using a heat press machine as a hands-on learning experience.
This initiative will not only teach students essential graphic design skills but also expose them to the fundamentals of branding, marketing, and financial literacy. By creating and selling their own custom-designed T-shirts, students will gain firsthand experience in managing costs, setting prices, and engaging with customers—skills that are crucial for any aspiring entrepreneur.
Through this project, students will learn to take their ideas from concept to execution, understanding the value of hard work, persistence, and innovation. They will design logos, create marketing materials, and utilize social media to promote their products. Additionally, they will gain experience in customer service and business management, preparing them for real-world success.
With the right resources, we can provide students with the materials they need to create and sell their T-shirts while fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship that could change their lives. By investing in this program, you are investing in the future of young entrepreneurs who have the potential to transform not only their own lives but also their communities.
