Help me give my students a Midea 12,000 BTU Ultra Quiet Portable AC for a cool, comfortable classroom conducive to learning despite the sweltering heat and humidity we are now experiencing during the northeast spring through fall.
My students enjoy hands on learning as an individual or as part of a team. They quickly enter my room, read our posted to do list for the day, and begin their 10 minutes of typing practice. The rest of the hour together, students work on the designated project such as: creating Google Doc flyers, Pixel Art in Google Sheets to learn about conditional formatting, Google Slides research and presentation, LEGO robotic construction and coding, 3D design and printing, Drone safety and autonomous flight. However, the past few years, we have experienced climate changes: oppressive heat and humidity during our spring through fall seasons making it almost impossible for my students to focus on learning. This energy efficient Midea AC unit will make a huge difference to our portable classroom learning environment.
Having a climate controlled space will make our classroom a healthy environment and put motivation and excitement back in our learning.
