My students need to bring PE into the 21st century by using Heart Monitors to track their Healthy Fitness Zones.

My Students

My students are awesome. I teach physical education to to our general and special education students. My students are mixture of athletic, non-athletic, and those who are finding their way to becoming healthier all around citizens. Our school was a Title I school and is located in an area of high need.

We are looking to update our "Fitness" Unit.

We teach 36 students per period so having enough equipment so students may monitor their own health stats would be ideal. We are looking for Heartrate monitors as well as fitness equipment so students may take control of their own fitness goals to become healthier people.

My Project

By providing my students with the "Heart Zones System" it will provide real-time feedback with multiple sensors for engagement and motivation so students can achieve their fitness goals. Track heart rate, steps, calories, distance, speed, time in zones, step rate, and step intensity - real data for objective grading and assessments.

This will change our students' lives for the better because they will love to see their improvement and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning to be fit!

The students will be able to see just how much effort they put into their workouts. They will be able to to see their fitness levels improve by tracking their heart rates.
