My Students

Our classroom is filled with learning and imagination. We work on reading, writing, math, handwriting, social studies, etc. every day. We teach our students what they need to learn and more importantly to love learning. I am a special education teacher, in an Inclusive Co-Teaching setting (in which both general education students and special education students learn side by side) in Queens. It is my job to provide opportunities for all students to learn in different ways to meet their diverse learning needs. It is important that my instruction includes audio, visual, and kinesthetic aspects enabling all students to access information.

Inclusion is not simply about proximity, it is about intentionally planning for the success for all students.

In addition to having an integrated community of learners, we also consider impact of remote learning over the past two years on student's academic and social emotional growth and needs.

My Project

Our class is in need of headphones that are both sturdy and functional to help make our students learning more engaging.

We are using iPads and computers to help support our students' diverse learning needs.

We have a class with different learners that benefit from visual and auditory strategies. Technology helps to support modeling and interaction to meet student needs. This use of technology is challenging when there are not enough head phones for each student.

We use multi-sensory strategies for teachings, practicing and assessing different skills to help promote our students' academic, social, and behavioral skills.
