I feel this quote describes my first graders perfectly.
Most of my students come from a low-income household, but they do not let that hold them back. They are always on the go and readying to learn and try new things. We work most of the time hands-on and manipulating things. My students enjoy using technology and listening to stories.
They are a fun loving group of kids and our future!
My Project
My students work on the computers to practice math facts and review the phonics we have been learning. When they are on the computers, I have to turn off the air conditioner, so they can hear the program they are working on. By having headphones, my student will be able to remain cool, while completing the math and phonics programs.
We will also be able to implement a listening area in my classroom by having the CD player.
My students love listening to stories as well as reading along with others.
