My Students

As a teacher in an elementary school, grades 1-5, with diverse students from all nationalities, it is important to me that my students are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed. All of the students in my classroom receive free breakfast and lunch.

If I had to describe my students in a few words, I would say that they are dynamic, talented, and inquisitive.

We work together as a community of explorers, scientists, and researchers. Everyday is filled with new learning possibilities and challenges. My students are always willing to embrace these challenges and persevere.

My Project

My students need access to technology daily in their math instruction program and practice phonics, decoding, and speech patterns during reading. Our district has assessments and instructional lessons that are administered on Chromebooks. After the students take diagnostic assessments they receive personalized math lessons that the students must listen to.

These headphones will allow my students to actively participate in their phonic lessons and continue instruction in math.

Many of my students' families cannot afford headphones for their children, and earbuds that are provided do not fit properly and most choose not to use them. It is difficult for my students to concentrate on instruction when they are constantly fiddling with the earbuds as they are falling out of their ears.
