My Students

I have the best students ever! Over 50% of our students receive free and reduced-price lunches and over 50% are Hispanic. They are so eager to learn and make a major contribution to society. They have so many goals and aspirations that I can't wait to see what they will become in the future. What our students need is to be treated as equals and to have equity in learning. They are going to accomplish so much and are ready to make their lives better.

My Project

Teaching in a school where half of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch and is half Hispanic can have its challenges. One of those challenges is giving all students equal learning devices and equipment. We are a one to one iPad school, but not all students have headphones to listen to instructional videos, listen and watch YouTube videos, or listen to other students' video presentations. Having a class set of headphones would give equity to all students.

Free education needs to be equal among all students.

An Apple TV will also aid the students in giving their presentations and to learn from instructional presentations. My students will benefit from having headphones and from an Apple TV.
