My students need Kindle Fire's as a way to listen to reading in their reading centers.

My Students

My students come from a high poverty community, where most of them qualify for free/reduced lunch. Our school lies in the heart of the Appalachian Mountians and has mostly farm land surrounding it. They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They work extremely hard to excel in their school work and be leaders in the classroom. My students are special because they want to be successful in school and in life!

My Project

My students are in need of a way to listen to books as a Daily 5 center during our Reading Class. In order to build fluency, students need to hear books being read, not just read them to themselves. My students will do this center one day per week, while also writing about what they have listened to. These Amazon Fire's would allow my children to access the internet and numerous book apps that already have the leveled books available to them. Having these in my classroom will allow my students to have easy access to technology and be able to go anywhere in the room to listen to reading.
