The students in my Salt Lake City classroom are at an Expeditionary Learning school; this means they are learning with a purpose and produce assignments that positively impact their community. My students are from an underprivileged community; but despite their lack of means, they love to give back and serve their school and the greater Salt Lake City community.
My students are inquisitive, creative, and passionate about school; they are voracious learners!
As a fourth-grade teacher, I love to encourage and foster this joy for learning. Students in my classroom research, collaborate on assignments and share their learning with others. They light up when they see the impact their learning has on others. It is a privilege to see their growth, both academically and socially, as they navigate their fourth-grade year.
My Project
The use of technology in the classroom is increasingly important for students in a modern learning and teaching environment and the modern world. These quality headphones will be used by my students in their computer research of various topics in English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies throughout the school year, as well as in computer-based lessons that are specially targeted to meet the students' learning exactly where it is needed most. My students currently use low-quality earbuds that frequently break or stop working.

These quality headphones will mean that the students need not worry about them breaking or pieces falling off from repeated use, and allow them to focus on learning.
