My Students

Every day my students enter my classroom ready for a new start. They enter eager to learn and are full of energy. Many of my students come from a limited economic background and do not have the means necessary to purchase everyday school supplies, let alone any of the extras.

My classroom is set up on a rotational model.

Students spend half of the time working on a computer program and the other half getting small group differentiated instruction from the teacher.

My Project

My students are broken into two groups with one group completing computer assignments while the other group is completing extension work from their math class. While on the computers students complete two programs. The second one they work on is an individualized math program with instructional lessons tailored to their specific needs. The job of the computer program is to fill in any academic holes that students may have. The students are in need of new sets of headphones for their computer time.

Without these headphones, students will not be as focused on their lessons.

The computer program goes through the lesson giving step by step instructions that are hard to follow with the headphones we are currently using. We have had the current set for three years, and after being used by over 200 students each year, they have seen better days.
