Help me give my students over the ear headphones to use during independent working times.
This project expired on April 19, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students come from diverse backgrounds. Our school often has the greatest ethnic diversity of all the schools in the state. The majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The school, especially the science department, is very technology poor.
Like all kids, they enjoy learning most when they are actively engaged.
It is not uncommon to have a student absent due to either a suspension or from the lack of interest in being in school. This is evidence that they are disengaged. These students need a better reason to be in the classroom than grades alone. They need to become a part of the system. They need to feel needed.
The activities that we complete, both in and out of the classroom, are greatly restricted by the socioeconomic makeup of our student body, as well as the absence of a budget for laboratory supplies.
My students need headphones to use when watching videos for class. This will allow them to spend more time focused on the assignment and not having to constantly adjust the volume on their device.
Many of my students do not come to school with headphones or even own them.
Our class uses headphones in a variety of ways. From using Khan Academy in Math to watching short videos for our Science class.
These headphones will benefit my students in all subject areas. This will allow them to independently grow and learn more about the subject areas we are studying this year.
