My Students

Our school is a Title I school in a rural community. The school is 100% free or reduced-price lunch with a free after-school program to help with homework (pre-Covid) and provide extra time for computer use as most do not have the Internet at home. Our class serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities The students are hard-working. Most of the students in my third-grade class read below grade level by two years.

The class is made up of mostly low income families.

Students receive backpack buddies for the weekend. Despite these circumstances, they continue to make growth in their education. Most will increase reading levels by 2 to 4 levels throughout the year.

My Project

Hear Ye, Hear Ye Our headphones with microphones are in well used shape. If you had little kids you know they don't last long. I would really love to have new ones for the next half of the year.

We used the headphone with microphones almost daily.

We work on required individual computer programs daily. It gets really noisy if everyone doesn't have headphones. It's very distracting for the group I'm trying to work with.

It would be so awesome to have new headphones in January. My students are wonderful kids!
