Learning can be a struggle for some students. When a student has learning differences and is unable to have needed supplies learning is impacted even more. Many of the students that I work with utilize the computer for educational programs to help bridge learning gaps and boost their self confidence while working through individualized programs.
My Project
All of my students work on individualized reading and math programs. Having a good pair of headphones with a microphone are necessary. The need to be able to listen to what is being asked of them. About half of the students are also on an additional specialized reading program that requires them to read into the microphone to record their fluency of the text. Using the inexpensive earbuds that most students will provide isn't an option for the programs that I am trying to use.
A good pair of working and durable headphones allow my students to access these wonderful programs and bridge the gaps in their learning.
Students with learning differences benefit from the programs that the headphones will be used with.
Accommodations to learning needs of children allow for the text to be read to them so as each child shows what they are capable of understanding not if they can read a particular text. Having headphones that are durable and in working order is a critical need for my students. Most of my students are unable to provide good working headphones.
