Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how understanding my students are. They understand that everyone has is on different levels of reading and understanding the English language. They understand that being able to listen and compromise are very important skills. Most especially, they understand the importance of sharing materials when there are not enough to go around.

As understanding as they are, I want them to have peace and quiet as they try their best to hear themselves read and sound out stories.

In my district, students take reading and math tests on their Chromebooks that have audio. This is typically not an issue for stronger students, but I have many Multilingual Learners who need to be able to hear the questions without the echoes of other computers. They also use reading and math applications daily that strengthens their skills in those subjects. However, it is hard to focus with the constant hum of others reading and computer audio in their ears.

Another thing I love about my students is how they work together. They know the importance of helping the people around them. I have so many great kids that love helping the students that need that extra push. They support one another. That's why I want to give them a moment of reprieve where they can learn without struggle.
