Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The iPads, will be downloaded with a communication board, an app that displays photos, symbols, or illustrations to help students with limited language skills to express themselves. These tools are very useful to help them communicate basic needs such as telling when they are hungry, what they like to eat, what they want to do and more. Together with good headphones, my students will be able to hear and learn important vocabulary words that they can use for everyday activities.

Our goal for this project is to help students improve their communication skills through digital devices, iPads with headphones, by providing a visual aid that allows them to express their thoughts and feelings.

These digital tools are especially useful for my students, who are struggling to communicate verbally and who have limited speech.

My students are special because they are very eager to learn even if they have various learning challenges. With the iPads and headphones my nonverbal students will have a better chance of expressing themselves...Let us all hear their voices.
