My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Houston, Texas where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students are faced with many obstacles that children at their age shouldn’t have to endure. The students still keep smiles on their faces no matter what life has thrown at them this year.

I have the ability to teach over 100 of the best young men and women you can possibly meet in the 7th grade.

They are becoming leaders around the school and having an impact on the other 7th graders around campus. Day after day I demand more from them in the classroom but I have yet to find a challenge they have yet to overcome.

My Project

This project will be used in conjunction with the computer for students to deepen their computer science skills in the classroom. There are many resources students can utilize but not enough means for them to listen to the lessons being taught without disrupting other students. These AirPods will be helpful to have the tools to access the many resources there are available for them on the computer. There are many coding games used to learn in a fun and interactive way. Headphones will allow students to learn how to code without disrupting other students.

Students in my district have limited access to technology.

These AirPods will make a difference in their learning by allowing them the opportunity to have access to technology that will be beneficial to them in centers and in the future. An example of that technology that will be accessed by the use of the headphones is being able to hear while learning coding programs such as Kodable and Root Coding.
