This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many people have difficulty speaking in front of an audience. I like to give my first graders opportunities to practice this skill early on.

I teach an enthusiastic group of first graders.

They love learning and sharing what they learn. My students attend a gifted magnet and we try to provide the students with opportunities to explore their talents. One way to do this is have students presents different projects throughout the year.

My Project

I assign a variety of projects throughout the year. Students research a topic and create a project that they would like to share with the class. During these presentations, I like to provide my students with resources they could use, like a microphone, pointer, and/or computer. Unfortunately, my current microphone broke and the speaker no longer charges so we would really appreciate a new microphone and speaker system students can use for presentations.

My students would really benefit from these presentation resources.

They may not all become stars, but I'd like them to at least have practice speaking in front of an audience so they can start gaining confidence now.
