My Students

My students come from mixed backgrounds of single-parent, traditional family, mixed family, and foster or grandparent care. Common to all is the desire to be given the opportunity to explore and discover critical-thinking skills needed as they transition from being the students of today to the leaders of tomorrow. My students are ambitious, kind and ready to learn cross-cutting science and engineering concepts. Your donation will provide resources for them. We are currently working with our new Science and Engineering 3D standards and utilizing the 5E model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate).

My Project

My students are in need of 15 Sony over-ear wired headphones. I currently have 10 sets that I have been using for several years and over time they have started to break down. I am looking for replacements for this important piece to my classroom blended learning experience. Students rotate through stations and one of the stations requires them to watch a short instructional video on the topic. This important piece is essential as they explore the topics in my classroom.

We have an upcoming rotation station on the Carbon Cycle.

Without watching this video, we are left to discover the carbon cycle through other modes - and let's be honest - students these days need to watch these videos to gain the knowledge. Technology is an important piece to my classroom and I am in need of these headphones to keep the learning stations quiet so others at other stations can focus.
