Help me give my students headphones to access reading and writing, plus calculators and whiteboards to support problem solving, so they can remove barriers and fully engage in learning.

My Project

My classroom is a middle school learning center where students receive targeted academic support in math, reading, and writing. Our instruction focuses on small-group lessons, guided practice, and independent work that helps students build skills, confidence, and independence as learners. Because students often move between activities and use multiple tools, having reliable, well-organized materials is essential for maintaining focus and maximizing learning time.

Headphones with built-in microphones play a critical role in helping students access reading and writing tasks throughout the school day.

Students use headphones to listen to audiobooks and text-to-speech features in online assignments, allowing them to engage with grade-level content while maintaining focus and comprehension. The built-in microphones also support speech-to-text during writing activities, giving students an efficient way to turn their ideas into written responses without losing momentum or being distracted.

In math, students regularly use calculators and whiteboards during guided practice and problem-solving activities. Calculators allow students to focus on reasoning and multi-step thinking, while whiteboards give them a flexible space to show their work, revise strategies, and explain their thinking. These tools are used daily for modeling, practice, and discussion, helping students stay actively engaged and confident during instruction.

To support responsible and independent use of classroom technology, a dedicated headphone storage system provides students with a consistent place to store and retrieve their headsets. This organization helps transitions run smoothly, protects shared materials, and allows students to take ownership of the tools they use every day. When materials are easy to access and reliable, students stay engaged in instruction without unnecessary interruptions.

By donating, you are helping create an organized, supportive learning environment where students can focus on learning rather than logistics. These resources will help students fully access math, reading, and writing activities, build independence, and confidently show what they know.
