This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful, and energetic. They enjoy movement and singing. My students love to learn new things. They come to school each day ready to conquer the world.
My class of second graders, ages 7 & 8, are striving to become life-long learners through the difficult and impoverished home-life.
Some are even helping their parents raise their siblings and trying to work towards grade-level status in all subject areas.
With the help of DonorsChoose, my goal is to help my students attain their dreams, regardless of their circumstances.
My Project
Reading is a great emphasis in my classroom.
I strive on a daily basis to assist my ELL students to read independently at a "just-right"pace and comprehend what they read, through read alouds on the carpet, guided reading in small groups, and independent reading.
This listening center will allow them to listen to popular books on their own. Students will hear stories read at a "just-right" pace, enabling them to understand what they are listening to.
These items will allow me to establish a listening center in my classroom, adding to my current reading centers. My goal is to add-on more books, including non-fiction books, in the near future.
Your donation will assist my students to achieve a specific goal..........to love learning through reading, enabling them to become life-long learners and productive citizens.
