My Students

My students are enthusiastic, energetic, and full of ideas! We are a small, close-knit rural school. Many of my first graders are overcoming family or economic struggles, but they do not let it hinder their dedication to learning! They love to build their independence daily with small group and individualized instruction. Our school emphasizes a growth mindset, where students work hard to achieve their own goals.

These kiddos LOVE to learn with technology!

We utilize several differentiated, adaptive learning apps to engage students in meaningful independent practice tailored to their own needs. We often have many different methods of learning happening at one time - small group, partner, technology, and hands-on activities.

My Project

My students use iPads for individualized learning on a daily basis, but we don't have enough headphones to allow students to work quietly! We often have many different learning activities occurring simultaneously. Without headphones, students become distracted by each other, and our awesome technology is not as effective as it could be. My students comment how they are distracted by noises from other iPads - and first graders need all the help concentrating they can get!

These kids want to make the most of their technology!

Most of my students do not have the financial means to bring their own quality headphones. A donation of headphones to our classroom would mean that we can implement our educational technology to the fullest.
